How to Help Hurricane Harvey Flood Victims!

Texas is under a tremendous amount of sorrow and sadness after Hurricane Harvey ripped through most of the gulf coast and drowned the 4th largest city in the U.S. of Houston Texas. I’ve cried, prayed and just have been in disbelief over the amount of people that have been affected by this tragedy. I’ve had friends from Virginia, Chicago to California asking how they can help so I thought I would make a list of ways to help that I have came across for my local and national friends. Honestly anything you can give to help Hurricane Harvey Flood Victims will be most appreciated!

There are so many families that need help. The Rendon Family hits close to home for me because Monique and I grew up in the same area and among the same group of friends. Just 3 weeks ago Monique and her family Adrian, Selia (14), Adrian (11), Gabby (9) and Khloe (8) all moved to Katy Texas to start a new venture only to have it swept away by Hurricane Harvey. They thought they would be safe because they were on higher ground but unfortunately went under a mandatory evacuation by the national guard only taking their backpacks and a few items each. Their home is damaged, their cars are gone and all of their belongings are ruined! So any help for this wonderful family will be so appreciated! You can donate to the PayPal link by clicking on the photo below and donate directly to them or if you are in the San Antonio area and want to donate items or clothing, please contact me!

You can also donate to the Texas Diaper Bank nationally very easily through their site and Amazon Smile (thank you to my friend Angelica from Vince and Soph Apparel for sharing this info) Usually many shelters do not supply diapers and wipes so this is a great help! And if you are in the San Antonio area you can donate to Pinots Palette of Alamo Heights as they are accepting items and will be taking them to the local Texas Diaper Bank!

The San Antonio Food Bank is in need of monetary donations, volunteers and food donations, you can help locally or nationally. They have trucks going daily to the areas needing food and water!

Another way to people can help is by purchasing items such as T-shirts and the proceeds are going to the American Red Cross. The Texas Unicorn created a fab Texas Strong tee and she is donating the funds to help the flood victims. See her Etsy Shop to place your order and show your support no matter where you are!

You can also donate to the Love2Houston Relief Drive that is being managed by one of my amazing Empowering Women Yvonne Spoiled Latina Guidry! You can donate to the Go Fund Me or contact them to give donations!

There is also another T shirt drive coming together by our friends in the Coastal Bend area of Corpus Christi. You can contact Elena Flores of Sew Bonita or Gerald Flores of Taco Gear for more info, and support Texas as they heal from this tragedy!

And of course the American Red Cross has an easy way to donate by texting a code and having a $10 donation billed to your phone bill.. yes it’s that easy! Thank you to my friend Vianney from Sweet Life Bake for sharing the graphic below. She was also affected by Hurricane Harvey and we are sending her lots of positive vibes that she is able to re-build soon!

There are so many ways that you can help. My friends over at Bicultural Familia have a list coming together soon. Please follow them for more info on how to help locally across Texas!
