Advanced Screening Passes were provided by Disney affiliates, however all opinions are my own.

Disneys Pixar Coco

If you haven’t seen Disney Pixar’s Coco yet, then you may not want to read this post…. But then again who hasn’t? Everyone I know ran to the theater this past Thanksgiving weekend to see the much anticipated movie that Disney created in light of Dia De Los Muertos! When I say this has to be one of the best movies I’ve seen from Disney, its honestly so hard to put into words. But I’ll try… here are my 4 reasons why you will love Disney Pixar’s Coco!

Tradition!

One thing we as Latinos hold onto is Tradition. This movie showed all the ways familias carry on tradition from your great great Grandmothers like “Grandma Coco” to the youngest child in the family. We keep traditions with food, music and cultura and I was so happy to see this shown in Coco through and through.

Love!

The love and respect shown in this movie resonated with so many of us! We try to always respect our family and the hard work that they put forth for the next generation to have a better life. I can’t tell you how any times this weekend I’ve heard someone say that their familes story of starting a business resembled the story-line in Coco. But what it all comes down to is the love and respect for family is strong!

You will Laugh…… and Cry!

The emotions that I had through this movie was something I was not ready for! It’s not normal to want to ball your eyes out in a middle of a Disney movie but as I looked around I saw kids from the ages to 7-14 just crying with full tears coming down their face! It really will remind of you of someone you knew in your own family and touch your heart in a special way. Along with that, will come tears of laughter!!! I was laughing so much, just seeing things that I’ve seen in my family be portrayed on the big screen you can’t help but think that writers behind this movie made sure Latino humor was apart of Coco!

Family!

Family is the most important thing to so many but even more in our culture, whether you are carrying on your families business or teaching things that you learned from your abuelos to your children… Family is always together in spirit. I love the celebration of Dia de los Muertos that was the main story-line of the movie, and the importance of keeping the memories of your family members alive. But what I loved even more was the way they showed the loved ones that crossed over are thinking about their family too! It made me feel in my heart that my loved ones that passed on still remember me! And that meant more to me than you could ever know! (tears)

I’m incredibly grateful that I was asked by Disney and their affiliates to be apart of the Advanced Screening in San Antonio that made it possible for some of us to see the movie before it was released on Wed November 22! I had a giveaway on my Instagram and was able to give tickets out to so many wonderful families! Check out the video below to see all the happy faces and comments about Disneys Pixar Coco!

One of my favorite parts of the movie was that Frida Kahlo was apart of it, in case you don’t know I love everything Frida and when I saw that she was apart of the story I was overcome with emotion!

What was your favorite part of the movie, leave a comment and let us know?

Disney has been so wonderful to everyone here in San Antonio, they were even apart of Muertos Fest-Dia de los Muertos festival that happened in October in the Historic Market Square. If you were able to check it out… People were allowed to be apart of a cool VR experience that included footage from the movie and they also gave everyone the opportunity to take a picture and post it to their social media with the hashtag #PixarCocoSA and the pictures where all collected and transformed in to a mosaic art piece of Pepita!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed Coco as much as we did!
