Since starting my blogger/influencer journey, I really didn’t know what to expect. I just knew that I wanted to share, write and help bring more positivity to the world! I feel with this platform and my podcast Girl Talk y Más I’ve been doing a pretty good job! So, I wanted to take moment and reflect on my journey because 2018 has truly been a blessing, so here are my Top Moments of 2018!
Being a Brand Ambassador for Chevy!
Being a brand ambassador for the Chevrolet brand has been such an amazing opportunity! Not only is the Chevy brand near and dear to my heart because it originated my hometown of Detroit. We have also created some amazing moments as a family and enjoyed road trips in some of our favorite Chevy vehicles! Here are some of our favorite trips with Chevy!

Sharing more empowering interviews on my Podcast Girl Talk y Más is one of my most proudest moments! The people that I’ve connected with and relationships that have started have been more than inspiring! This platform is so important and even more stronger going into the New Year!
It was also pretty amazing to see the first image for the Podcast come to life with the amazing work of artist Crystal Domi! Crystal is a very talented artist and always helps bring my platforms to life through her artwork. The t-shirt was printed by my amiga and digital print expert Martiza of MG Custom Printing! Such a great moment!

Reaching 10K on Instagram!
Every blogger or social media influencer wants to get to that magic 10k on Instagram! Well in 2018 that actually happened for me and I’m so grateful! I truly appreciate all the online friends I have made and followers that support my platforms and enjoy my content! They say something magical does happen after 10K and you just continue to grow. Keep engaging, connecting and posting. you will get there!

Being a Social Media Influencer for La Familia Cortez Restaurants!
There were so many exciting opportunities that I’ve had in 2018, one of them is being a social media influencer for La Familia Cortez Restaurants! They own 4 of the top restaurants in San Antonio and a 5th one opening up soon! They also host some of the cities biggest events inside the Historic Market Square! I’m truly honored to be apart of the good news they are spreading all around San Antonio!

Macy’s Annual Beauty Event!
A favorite moment this year for me was co-hosting the annual Beauty Event with my dear friend and fabulous blogger Rose for Macy’s! Spoiled Latina Day 2018!
One of my best moments hands down was attending Spoiled Latina Day in Houston. The experience was truly empowering and I will forever cherish it! I learned so much and met so many amazing ladies! Hosting my first Holiday Influencer Event
Last but not least my most proudest moment was the Holiday Blogger Event that I co-hosted with Yvonne Spoiled Latina and Cariño from Mexi-Modern Kitchen. This was a real big deal and I’m still receiving emails and messages about the experience and connections that everyone made that day! It was a great learning experience and even bigger blessing! I can’t wait to host more events in 2019!
Being a Blogger…What works and what doesn’t’?
I can honestly say that there is not only one way to grow your following, page-views or readers. It really varies with the type of content that you create and the effort you put behind promoting it. I’ve only been blogging for 3 years, so I’m no expert and still make mistakes but I also feel that I have achieved so much in a short time! Here are my biggest tips that I can put out there for anyone growing a blog or platform….
- Find your niche? Are you selling a product? Offering a service or just want to write about things that bring you joy. There is an audience for each. My advice to find those people that have a similar niche to yours. Those are the ones that will genuinely share your content and follow you on your platforms.
- Don’t put all your effort into one social media platform. I know Instagram seems to be the most popular, but don’t stop there. I can promise you Pinterest is hidden gem and a majority of where most of my views to my blog come from. Create a pin-able graphic and pin it to link to your business website, social media page, or blog. Did you ever think to repin your fabulous Instagram pics to Pinterest and link your IG account for people to find you? Trust me it works!
- Engage, reach out and be friendly. Social media is a whole other world. We can’t just expect people to follow us, like our post and comment when we never show the same in return. Each week pick 5 new accounts that you actually find interesting and reach out to them. You will create real conversations and can meet some really great people!
- Reaching out to brands can be a little intimidating, but you need to do it to create the relationships. Having a direct connection and showing your interest will help you stand out. They may not hire you right away, but when there is an opportunity, I can promise that you will be top of mind for making that initial contact. Whether its a big name brand or a favorite local business… being a blogger is a business too and you want to make sure that you are represented in this space. That’s exactly how you will grow!
